Michael Carbonara’s Story
running to represent Florida’s 25th Congressional District.
Introduction
A proud resident of South Florida, entrepreneur and father of two, running to represent Florida’s 25th Congressional District.
Michael is guided by his core values of resilience, faith, and service which drive his mission to encourage prosperity and opportunity for South Florida. As a successful businessman, he knows what it takes to create jobs, and fuel healthy American industries.
Michael is running for U.S. Congress because Florida families deserve better than the failed policies of previous leadership. He’s committed to economic growth, better quality of life and affordable healthcare as he fights to make the American Dream a reality for residents of South Florida.
Early life
Born in Long Island, New York, Michael was raised by a single mother alongside his older brother and younger sister in a Catholic household that instilled strong values of faith, family, and service.
Michael’s worldview was shaped by his grandparents, who lived through the Great Depression and the World War II era. His grandfather served honorably in the Marines during the Korean conflict, while his great-uncle served in the Air Force during World War II. These family experiences during America’s defining moments instilled in Michael a deep appreciation for American traditions, values, and the sacrifices made to preserve our freedoms.
Michael's journey
Michael’s entrepreneurial journey began when he started his first fintech company in 2011, diving headfirst into technology and software development. His approach was always hands-on: for every business he launched – spanning banking and payments, cryptocurrency, data centers, genetics, and fertility services – he immersed himself completely and became a self-taught expert. His foundational business principles of people management and understanding macroeconomic trends proved applicable across every industry he entered.
Michael moved to Florida in 2012, where he met his wife, Sonia. Her family’s story embodies the American Dream that Michael is committed to protecting. Born in Cuba, Sonia came to the United States at age six. Her grandfather had previously been a political prisoner of the Castro regime for 23 years. Like many families in South Florida, the Carbonaras understand the precious nature of American freedom and the dangers of tyrannical government overreach.
The couple saw firsthand the medical bureaucratic overreach driven by concerns about COVID lockdowns. This personal experience with government overreach reinforced Michael’s commitment to protecting individual freedoms and family rights.
In 2023, motivated by growing concerns about declining birth rates and infertility crises, Michael founded a genomics company to help families struggling with infertility. Having observed troubling trends during the COVID pandemic, including rising infertility rates and concerning vaccine-related complications, Michael saw this as a moral imperative to address what he views as one of the greatest threats facing America and the world.
Michael today
Michael’s diverse background – from his immigrant family’s pursuit of the American Dream to his success as a global entrepreneur and business owner – has given him unique insights into the challenges facing American families and businesses today. His commitment to innovation, individual freedom, and traditional values drives his determination to serve the people of South Florida’s 25th District.
